>ok, if you want to copy a cd to a file, you use dd typically. Something
like this:

dd if=/dev/cdrom of=FILE.iso bs=8M

Louis> Sorry I'm the dummy here. Where exactly do I type this command after
putting the CD in before booting and please explain the other options ?

Where is of=FILE.iso stored ?

What is bs=8M mean ? Is it the size I want copied over ?

>Might be less work to get it to do a minimalist install if you can and
then use the redhat tools to install the rest of the stuff you need.

Louis> Don't know how to get to that yet. First I need to understand the above
command.

on one of the consoles it gives you.

Louis> I'll read the boot options carefully. I always just click enter when
Linux brings up the console after loading the CD.

Cheers

Louis.
