However no X Windows was installed. I did not know vnc comes with
Red Hat, although I did see it from my RH 8.0 CDs. In that case I will

if I can get vnc using "up2date" for my version of RH 7.1. 

And yes you are right the vncserver I installed on the live server
came from a networking guide book I bought. It did say that the vnc
version
is for Linux but not specifically for RH.
