The world is a weird place. This is exactly what I've been doing this AM.

Its your ACLs (access control lists) in slapd.conf.

To test it and be most insecure try this:

access to *
       by * read
       by * write

Then

service ldap restart

It is a tad insecure but its a start.

Also in Evo, I've noticed that if I add an entry there is no visual feedback (Evo1.2). You need to click on the surname button to check that the entry made it in. Eg. Adding Mr X, after adding the contact, click on the X button in the contacts list to see the effect.

Only just got it working 5 mins ago so I will post if there are other problemos.

Hey sluggers,
anyone got evolution editing addresses in ldap?

I am running openldap - standard woody install with default setup.
Except I have loaded the evolutionperson.schema from evo's cvs.
I can drag and drop contacts onto the ldap server and it works great - I
can view them etc.
however I can't edit the contacts - I can delete them, but can't change
any of the fields.
The only suggestion I can find on google is to load the
evolutionperson.schema - which I have done.

Any other tips?
It definitely appears to be an evolution problem as other ldap apps can
edit the entries no worries.

thanks
