Hey Norm,
I have used with much success a 3Com card
(sorry can't remember model there)
And pretty much all the xircom Modem only cards from 28.8k up to 56k
in the Realport range a few years back. (managed a laptop leasing
thingo with QUT Uni for a few years so got to test out heaps of them).
The 56k Realports were great
(and very reliable .. no breakage on the dongle of course).
Not too sure if you can still get them in modem only form,
and xircom were always more expensive.
