Well, I never bought a Pentium III with a processor ID, why would I buy a machine with a DRM BIOS??? I am interested however to know to what extent these BIOSs will be flashable. If they can be flashed chances are they can be cracked. If they can't be flashed, how will they offer the often needed BIOS upgrades? (Note this is not as much of an issue for the proposed use in embedded systems.) There also seems to be very little discussion of the international implications. Not all nations are interested in borging their citizens (or if they are, _they_ want to be the ones doing it) and have laws in place to protect/isolate them.
