I've been following the discussions on this (and related) issues, but can't find anywhere any information about how Fedora compares to RH9 in terms of core component versions:
In other words, is Fedora an update to RH9, a straight replacement, or a backdate. How does it compare in core components: kernel: RH9 version 2.4.20-8; Fedora ? apache: RH9 version 2.0.40-21; Fedora ? dhcpd: RH9 version 3.0pl1-23; Fedora ? imapd: RH9 version 2001a-18; Fedora ? bind: RH9 version 9.2.1-16; Fedora ? posgresql: RH9 version 7.3.2-3; Fedora ? samba: RH9 version 2.2.7a-7.9.0; Fedora ? sendmail: RH9 version 8.12.8-4; Fedora ? squid: RH9 version 2.5.STABLE1-2; Fedora ? Furthermore, is the directory structure and locations of utilities identical to RH? What I'm trying to avoid (probably obviously) is the need to have to reconfigure custom software and scripts.
