Michael Zucchi is working on it, has been for some time. Fixing it requires
structural changes that are simply not appropriate for a stable release - so
2.0 would be a perfect milestone for that, if they weren't aiming to have it
completely restructured (inside and out) in time for GNOME 2.6.

Their $$$ audience is unlikely to use IMAP anyway. :-)
