The trial version is free, but it'll cost you for the 
full version.  There used to be a programs macunpack
and unstuffit which could deal with .sit files but
apparently aladdin changed the format.

  Short version:  If you want to open a StuffIt (.sit) archive on Linux,
  you're out of luck, because none of the tools can deal with recent
  StuffIt compression methods.
