I'm not sure you can get that amount of traffic cheaply from Australian hosting providers -- they'll correct me if I'm wrong. The US seems to be drowning in large amounts of diskspace and bandwidth -- Google ads might be one of the better places to get a list of providers. It would be a good idea to look at 5 or 10 to make sure you're getting value for money (some of them sell a POP3 mailbox for the price others sell 1GB of hosting space for). I used http://csoft.net/ for a while (1GB of harddrive space, more or less unlimited bandwidth US$25/month) -- they were fine but I have no idea if that's seriously competitive, probably on the expensive side. I now use a virtual server at http://jvds.com/ -- 3GB HDD space, 40GB bandwidth (I think), root on virtual server, US$20/month. Their non-virtual server hosting seems significantly more expensive (600MB HDD space, 20GB bandwidth, $25/month -- odd). Both seem to have adequate tech support, although if you want better than 99.5% uptime neither of those would make the grade. That should give you an idea of the prices you're looking at, but I would definitely check Google and Google Ads for other providers. -Mary -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group Mailing List - http://slug.org.au/ Subscription info and FAQs: http://slug.org.au/faq/mailinglists.html
