Hey folks,
The other day Del suggested to the activities list [
http://lists.slug.org.au/archives/activities/2004/03/msg00004.html ]
that SLUG aim for bigger installfests, including:
- pre-registration
- commercial sponsorship
- much higher attendance
The committee discussed this at our meeting tonight (minutes within a
week), and our conclusion was:
if people want to organise big events for SLUG, the committee will
be willing to contribute SLUG funds, announce it on the website, and
support it with all our might...
but...
the present committee members do not wish to organise major events
for SLUG themselves, nor do we have to hand people who are dying to
organise major events for us... that we know of.
So this is a call for volunteers. The committee (and interested others)
want to know exactly what people are able to do for SLUG. In particular,
if we have no one interested in organising major events, we will have to
shelve any suggestions for them.
SO... if you want to be part of SLUG events outside monthly meetings:
1. Join the activities list at
http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/activities
2. reply to this mail and fill out the below (reply to activities
ONLY):
