G'day guys,

Just a quick thanks for all your help.

I found the problem. Some software I had previously installed did
interfere at some point with Evolution (I think when gnome went wierd at
one point).

However, I moved my evolution folder about, and when I restored it back,
some files were left with incorrect ownership, causing permission errors
- and hence it not working.

Also, I have since downgraded and re-upgraded evolution (since getting
it to work) from a more trusted source. I think there may have also been
some other compatibility issues as I wasn't able to use evolution as any
user (even root) for a bit there...

So, in the end who knows - I haven't been logging my actions on this
machine to that higher a degree to give too much of a definitive
answer...

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the help - it was good to
have reference points to move from.

All the best...

Mike
