I took a peak at archlinux, especially since Chris (ctd) was twisting
my arm. It's not bad. I've always been a sucker for linux
distributions that require lots of leg work. Guess that's why I
started on slackware all those years ago.

So far I have installed a base system, although as I mentioned to ctd
lastnight it appears it lacks support out of the box for my nforce2
onboard ethernet. Should I go grab nvidia package for support and
patch a kernel or something? I looked at the 2.6.3 kernel tree and I
cant see no mention of nforce2 ethernet module/drivers.

If I get ethernet working then I guess archlinux stays on the box a
bit longer as I work through setting up x windows and various other
stuff. Plan is to get lots of stuff installed and working, but
networking hinges all of it at the moment before I can ssh in and do
the rest from various other locations when time permits. It is hoped
eventually that this machine will also run mythtv/mythweb with my
dvico hdtv pci card in about 2 weeks time. So that will be another
troublesome project. But should proove fun on archlinux.

Any comments for me to go explore in attempt to get my ethernet working?

Thanks in advance.
