Trying to provide a method of showing video clips in a web based "player" that's written in flash. Flash has it's own limitations in that it can only play Quicktime or SWF movies. I've found a Linux based app that converts AVI files to SWF, however I can't find anything that can convert MPEG to SWF. So the logical next step was to try and find a way to convert MPEG to AVI. Unfortunately Google comes up with nothing but noise and the SLUG archives reveal zip.
Oh and it's got to be able to do it from the command line as I'll be calling it via PHP.
