I have a lot in /var/cache/apt/archives
Whats the effect of deleting the debs in there?
Is there a correct Debian command to remove stuff there or do I just delete the files?
apt-get clean should do it. - Matt
Thanks. I read man and looked for purge. It's now clear and i have plenty disk space back.
But X still works only for root not for me.
I have deleted an .Xauthority file in my home dir.
Made sure all in /tmp is gone, including any . files or . directories from there (ICE and X socket stuff).
Rebooted.
Still no luck. Google shows threads like this but nothing that seems right for this case.
