Everyone's opinion is correct. I don't agree with the above sentiment:

Get Fedora Core, or SuSE.
Install a lightweight window manager like icewm.
The system will work just fine (with 32M).

I don't want my system compromised by a few $$ ram. Thank hevens the
developers share that sentiment. So you who want to play with 32M ram
can and are free to do so. The rest of us can spend 1 hours work to buy
oodles of ram, and not spend many hours of lost productivity waiting for 
slow computers. 

Do not try to run kde or gnome with 32M, you will wait for ever!
Don't wast your time playing with old distros. That is a very
unproductive avenue, and serves your club not-at-all.
