I'm setting up a couple of imap servers using dovecot myself, but on
Debian sarge. You may have a problem here, because the last time I looked
(IIRC) dovecot does not yet support shared folders.
Having said that I would be delighted for both of us if someone could prove me wrong.
I just did a quick test on my courier imap setup. You can symlink imap directories, though I can't give assurances of how well it works.
Perhaps it may be worth looking at if you really need it and can't find any other way.
