I'm assuming you've read the iwconfig man page, but in case you haven't
you do an "iwconfig <device> channel <number>". Are you getting a 'not
implemented/supported' error when you try and do that command? I've
found that with my card if you just set the SSID it'll automatically
change the channel of the card to the correct one for that network. I
have no idea what driver my card uses, but I know that it's whatever one
is included in the latest Arch Linux kernel.
If kismet is showing the card but you can't associate with iwconfig,
check whether you can see the networks with the other utilities in the
wireless-tools package. See whether doing a 'iwlist scanning' gives you
any of the networks you can pick up with kismet.
Hope that helps!

I recently purchased a Lucent Technologies PC24E-H-FC Orinoco Silver
PCMCIA wifi card, because it was on the compatibility list. I'm using
Debian on Intel.
The kernel has no problems identifying the card and loading the right
module. iwconfig reports sensable things.
With the orinoco_cs 0.13e driver, with the monitor patches, Kismet is
able to see the network I want to connect to (and 3 others as well).
Supposedly, in managed mode this card automagically scans... but it
never finds any of the 4 networks. This card doesn't appear to let you
set the channel (although the windows driver seems to be able to).
The lastest driver version (0.15rc2) segfaults.
Is anyone else using this card or driver?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
