General talk:
Lindsay Holmwood -- Xfce - A lightweight desktop environment for
the masses.
You've probably heard a thing or two about Xfce in the standard
geek news channels as of late. This talk will cover what it is,
it's history, it's components, sub-projects, the community, the
developers, and where it's heading. If you've heard stuff about
Xfce before but haven't looked into it, this is the talk for
you!
Technical talk:
Oscar Plameras -- OpenLDAP security made simple with OpenSSL and
Cyrus-SASL.
It is common perception that OpenLDAP is troublesome to install
and even more troublesome to implement with security in it. Is
this perception real or just imagination? It is the purpose of
this tutorial to address this issue; and to demonstrate that
OpenLDAP security can be made simple.
As usual, SLUG-Chat (formerly SLUGlets) will be running in another room
(TBA) during the 2nd half of the meeting for those who do not wish to
attend the 2nd talk.
