i think you are talking about low profile pci slots not all cards will fit into the (ie sound cards) but most network cards are short enough that you just need to change the mounting plate(? face plate) and then it will be fine.

This is probably a 'didnt you know that' answer. A server we are re-purposing (love that word) into a linux as a firewall has very narrow PCI slots normal network cards do not fit. Is this just a case of stupid design or is it telling me, use a special network card? If so, anyone know a good place to get them and what to ask for? Stu
