No need to go to all that bother, just use ssh, you can tunnel X through

Actually there is a need to go to all this bother. The problem is that she
has got sylpheed into a state where it is larger the the physical screen
size. I like to show her how to fix this without actually being there.
Hence my request.

It slows things down a bit, but if you just want to run the mail
client, then that shouldn't be an issue.

To do this just run this command

ssh -CX [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I tunnel X of ssh all day every day. This is not mystery to me.

Oh by the way -- Sylpheed, YUCK !! why not just use Thunderbird? much nicer.

Thunderbird, oh yuck, why not use Sylpheed :-).

Hmm, well the thing is I don't know you, and you didn't go into detail
about your experience, or the specific problem you were trying to fix.
To get all defensive when someone is trying to help is just plain rude
and arrogant.

Next time someone asks for help I will be less likely to give a solution
-- Well done, you just made it harder for new Linux users.

Funny thing, cause when someone tries to help me, even if they are way
off the target, I am grateful that they took 5 minutes out of their day
to at least try and lend a hand, its losers like you that think they are
somehow superior to those who have less computer knowledge, I bet you go
around telling newbies to RTFM, with out telling them how to RTFM.
Anyway, needed to let off some steam, your comments were really only the
straw that broke camels back, I really enjoy being part of a helpful
community, but all the arrogant self appointed genius's are the only
drawback.
How about a little less ego?

Oh yeah, good luck with the vnc thing
