It certainly doesn't make this clear when people sign up. Is it too much to suggest that we stop providing a feed willy-nilly until other users demonstrate they can protect our email addresses. As has been pointed out, the content is a valuable resource and we should take steps to protect its future value.. Google groups can obviously do it.
