O are you writing a book on shell scripting?
Not any book in shell scripting, yet. But I've learned to know that one only participates in a public forum if the comments have at least two of the following criteria get YES responses: 1. Is it helpful ? 2. Is it constructive ? 3. Is it informative ? 4. Is it fair ? 5. Is it relevant ? Otherwise, don't write anything, especially if what you're about to write is insulting. It discourages participations especially by newbies who may not be able to respond adequately to these insults or threatening comments. I believe it is the committee's responsibility to ensure appropriate behaviour in SLUG forums. I'm not a SLUG financial member but there is plenty of inappropriate and discouraging comments enough to break the silence.
