It seems as though I've found an answer to the specific question I
posted on the above subject.
At http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=205050, someone posted
information on how to make Firefox and Thunderbird print to kprinter
automatically in KDE/Kubuntu.
Well, I'm using Gnome, Fedora and XPP instead of KDE, Kubuntu and
kprinter, but it seems as though the Firefox configuration changes
suggested (with necessary modifications) have worked. If that's
confirmed by further testing, my apologies for troubling people
unnecessarily.
