Well you'll certainly get good support from SLUG for Ubuntu.
I found SUSE the best for install and go for wireless etc. Ubuntu (my mileage) still needed a lot of fiddling. The next Ubuntu 7.04 may be a little more flexible as its incorporating a number of commercial drivers etc. but that subject is for another flame war at another time :-) Good luck.
