Have any powerpc users ever managed to get jack working to any
reasonable degree? Have had no success on several machines (powerbook,
imac and G4 box) - internal and USB sound.

But as for Fedora Core 6, the sound seems to run perfectly on my
PowerBook G4 Ti. Try loading the snd-powermac module. You might also
want to try the snd-aoa driver if your running a lateish kernel.

Have you tried Ubuntu 7.04?
There's been a large number of improvements, particularly in hardware
device management.
