Hi Ken,
What do you find if you look in:
/root/.local/share/Trash/files
I'm running Dapper and was surprised to find a lot
of things I thought were deleted hiding out here.
I was later informed I needed to 'ctrl+delete'
rather than merely 'delete' files to avoid this.

Ubuntu fiesty
get error message that disk is full, /. but I can't find the files where
the content is in /. Home and tmp are separate partitions, as is
everything mounted on /media. Computer still working reasonably.
Below are output of df and du.
