What OS is critical here.
Gutsy supports the card without any further ado.
Ummm PClinuxOS and SuSE required you to build the driver and get the
Firmware image. I made both work.

Avoid dos2unix in everything here, you don't need.

If you use gutsy it's easy, just works.
If you use some of the others it's really tricky, network manager et al
complicate stuff hugely

The answers depend on your OS and network setup
