I've got the LC16 (very similar) for the same purpose -- these are *GREAT*
cases. Really slick. Mine is black, sits in a black Ikea TV stand, with a
46" screen on top. Provides server functions and runs MythTV. Does not look
out of place in the loungeroom *at all*.

I wanted something fairly grunty for combined media and virtualisation, so I
went with a Gigabyte 965G-DS4 and a Core 2 Duo. I've turned as much power
saving stuff on as possible. It certainly doesn't run loud or hot -- inside
the box is ~45°C, while each core is sitting at ~35°C atm, compared to my
laptop at ~70.0°C! I haven't actually measured what it pulls. It's probably
a bit ugly.

As long as you have a decent video card, and you're not planning to do any
virtualisation or other CPU-hefty tasks (including transcoding), you can get
away with a vastly less powerful CPU. Perhaps one of the VIA thingies.
