Not only that, but often times Wine will create handy Start Menu icons.
I've found great success with Wine for many applications, especially
"simple" apps.  Simply find the executable you would normally execute on
windows, and type in e.g. "wine setup.exe".  It should hopefully
install.

For a real life example, I need wine to run a Windows program for my
bluetooth GPS unit.  To launch it, I would simply do something like this
from my home directory:

wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Qstarz/Travel\ Recorder\ PC\
Utility/TravelRecorder.exe

Or just click the icon created in my start menu...
