You haven't explained why Australia in particular needs
a Linux distro.
I am sure many of us on the list (me included) can vouch
for many successful deployments of, say, Debian-based
systems without the need for a local distro.
I can understand why China has a red flag linux ... just
the language support itself must be a nightmare.
We could use a little bit of customisation (not
customization), but beyond that, I don't really see a
need.
And it becomes Yet Another Distro To Worry About.
I'm not nay-saying, just asking for a more detailed case
to be put forward.
