well use the keyboard UART and level convert your RS-232 into that...
Doing that used to be a popular solution in the 'old days for hardware
hackers to get an extra serial port... if I recall correctly..
also, if you hunt around enough old unix boxes, a lot of them came
with 8 or 16 port serial ports...
Places to look for one of those might include North Rocks computer markets.
If you really like *old*, then a PDP-11 you might find.... they
definitely have spare serial ports and the advantage of those is that
they can be programmed in the basic programming language. Just
remember to pay your power bill every week otherwise everything might
mysteriously stop working.
