From what I have read to date there is quite a bit of demand in Europe for the eeepc. I read that the 901 was release ca. 20 June 2008 according to some reports.
It is difficult to know what impact the competitors will have on eeepc sales. There are many similar ultra portables, MSI wind, Cloud, HP2133, Medion, to name a few.
