I reckon you should get some more information about the circumstances
surrounding the crashes before blaming your memory, but if you're not going
to be around for a while, running memtest86 for 24 hours and seeing the
result won't hurt.

Try running firefox in safe mode from an xterm:
firefox -safe-mode

If it still crashes, paste the output. If it doesn't crash, look into the
extensions you've got installed.
