I have an interesting WEP problem. I have my wireless network set up to
accept only the cards in my machines (by MAC address) and to use a WEP
key for encryption. This works perfectly for my main machine but I am
unable to get my laptop onto the system. I'm sure the MAC address is
correct and I am also sure that I use the same WEP pass phrase but I
cannot get a connection to the laptop. The laptop has an Orinoco card
which:-
A. Connects perfectly without security
B. Is the only reason I used WEP rather than WPA. It only handles WEP.
C. The only reason for the wireless setup.

I am new to wireless encryption and am a bit puzzled. Any clues would be
appreciated.

I use Ubuntu 8.10 on my Laptop and 8.04 on my main machine. The router
is a Linksys wrt54g2.

TIA
Heracles
