yes, it can be done but whether you will get anything out of it is arguable.
It's always worth a try.
I've sharpened any number of out of focus or poor quality still images using
gimp, but as far as I know, what you see on TV shows where the faces magically
appear out of a few pixels is fantasy. I would be interested to know if anybody
knows better.

(the reason: should the sharpening not be good enough, I might be able to
recognise a face by the way it "looks"---like the slightly blurred Mona
Lisa of some psychological tests).
