There are stairs going down along the outside of building from Sussex St to near the entrance. A map of the area and directions can be found here[1]. = About = SLUG's monthly meeting + AGM, featuring the normal AGM bits and a talk. Meetings are open to the general public, and free of charge. = Sessions = ** AGM: The 2009 SLUG Annual General Meeting ** The SLUG AGM[2] includes annual reports from the president and treasurer and committee elections. You will need to be a SLUG member[3] to vote. We will be accepting memberships on the evening. For a more user-friendly guide to the AGM, see here[4]. ** Lindsay Holmwood: 'Monitoring web application behaviour with cucumber-nagios' ** Setting up monitoring for web applications can be complicated - tests tend to lack expressiveness, or and quite often they don't even test the right problem in the first place. cucumber-nagios lets a sysadmin write behavioural tests for their web apps in plain English, and outputs the test results in the Nagios plugin format, allowing a sysadmin to be notified by Nagios when their production apps aren't behaving. Lindsay will be covering how to get up and running with the tool, writing tests for your web apps, and why it's important for sysadmins to test the behaviour (and not just the availability) of their production web apps. ** SLUGlets ** General discussion and Q&A about Linux, free software and open source. = Meeting Schedule = See here[5] for an explanation of the segments. * 18.15: Open Doors * 18.30: Announcements, News, Introductions * 18.45: General Talk * 19.30: Intermission * 19.45: Split into two groups for: o In-Depth Talk o SLUGlets * 20.30: Dinner Dinner is at Golden Harbour Restaurant[6], in Chinatown. Cost is $25 per head. We will be taking numbers during the intermission to confirm the reservation size. If you have any particular dietary requirements (e.g. vegetarian), or if you would prefer to order separately, let us know beforehand. Dinner is a great way to socialise and learn in a relaxed atmosphere, so come along and have some fun :) We'll see you there!
