Hmm... I tend to use Gimp for editing Nikon raw data files and then 
batch process afterwards with Phatch.  To do any graphics or drawing I 
prefer Inkscape.  

At least we made it to the point where there is now a choice of 
graphics packages on the Linux desktop :)
