Jill, I have had dealings with people at the top of Get-Up. They are definitely not a set up of the Labor Party. In fact when it comes to active members they probably have a larger overlap with Greens supporters than with Labor, but their membership is inclusive and they are about the issues.
I would not recommend the Pirate Party as a useful alternative.
