+1 on the Aspire One. I have one that I picked up, oh, maybe 18 months ago and it's been my main PC since. Unlike Peter I bought a model with a hard drive, which is no worse than any other laptop hard drive I've used. I'd agree with everything else he's said. The hardware support is nice. Initially had some minor problems with the wifi radio not coming back after resume, but under the most recent Ubuntu everything works perfectly.
