Phones have plenty of options for turning off functions to save battery power, such as WiFi and GPS. Another option is to turn off the 3G and use 2G if you are only making voice calls, as this uses less power.
ps: SLUGers will recall I demonstrated a Huawei Deuce U8520 Dual SIM Android smart phone at a meeting in 2011. I have now handed it back to Allphones and asked for my money back. This phone seems to be prone to locking up, judging by my experience and that of others.
