Hrm, I have had quite successful dealings with microsoft in the past in
regards to participating and actually helping out in some way with Software
Freedom Day. Who is the Academic and Marketing rep for Singapore?

No idea frankly. Various people within MS Singapore have indicated
interest to work with LUGS, but almost always on their own terms and
have not seen much progress. We can certainly try.

I don't like treating microsoft as the enemy, every corporate has their own
agenda and that is something to be weary of. But MS has in recent months
started to turn around to FOSS. This is person dependent however (the classic
example is Ray Ozzie = Good, supportive, Steve Balmer = Raving Loon who can't
grasp the (g)new strategic environment microsoft is operating in).

Personally, I have ignored MS, for in my scheme of things, they do not really
matter - anymore. They are not an enemy, they are just a victim of success
and circumstance (FTR, I used to work for them 1988-1990 in Seattle, but
that is another story).
