Problem is the formatting and layout of text. Regardless of any software we use, they should look the same.
And just like schools are using MS Office. At home if we should be able to use other Office software without worries, and not restricted to one office to open the documents in the same layout and format. Btw, Sun just release an ODF plugin for MS Office publicly. Download of plugin can be found on this page http://www.sun.com/software/star/openoffice/ If you have doc, xls, ppt created in MS Office, you can export to ODF through MS Office natively.
