to use other Office software without worries, and not restricted to one
office to open the documents in the same layout and format.

Maybe we should all go back to using Knuth's TeX system (and addons
like Lamport's LaTeX)...};-)

It's platform agnostic, the document format is open (public domain?),
it's definitely bug free (when was the last time somebody claimed a
check from Knuth for reporting a bug?) and its output is consistent
across printing devices.

I bet I can still print out a copy of my masters' Thesis (done over
ten years ago) in LaTeX today...};-)
