DeepanSorry to sound like a 'sour puss' but, AFAIK LUGS is still alive :) although we could do with volunteers for speaking at meetings as there hasn't been a LUGS organised meeting for quite some time. Some time back we talked about coordinating meeting announcements with SLMG and in fact both groups represent the same community. It is really about who is spending the time to organise the meet ups for Linux and Open Source related talks and at the moment it is Darrel that is doing a lot of the work - the LUGS or SLMG banner is immaterial as we are all on the same team :). Regarding the linked in group, as Harish says I don't think we need to express any wish against this group nor endorse it although I would question whether creating a linkedin group for a mailing list is something you would normally do.
