Oops. 19 CD's. I do install Debian occassionally Yeah! I was thinking
the contents of Debians mirrors. From wwwwhich Ubuntu is derived. 

You are quite right. You really can't install a working system 'even'
with the Ubuntu CD. You need to connect to the Internet to make Ubuntu
do what you want it to do. Which is: Surf. Play restricted DVD's. Make
your devices work.

Can someone successfully attack my installing system. Ubuntu or Debian.
