Hi DavidWe are using both RHEL & CentOS in our environment and we are
quite comfortable using CentOS (around 75 - 90 servers). We have never
encountered any management, configuration, package update or uptime
related issues due to usage of CentOS. And we could get good amount of
technical knowhow / information on the web to manage the same.I myself have
good handon experience using CentOS for our production requirements likea)
Virtualisationb) Cluster / High Availability - Web Server / Application Server
/ Database Server c) File / NAS ServerSo if there is no business
requirement to use licenced OS then you can consider using
CentOS.RegardsJoel+91 9920208223 / 9910884197On Wed, 09 Sep 2009 15:25:37 +0530

Hi All,

I am trying to decide whether I should go for CentOS or Redhaton my new server
setup. Some users shared with me that if I need high uptime, Ishould use Redhat
which is a paid version. Paid version in general provideurgent updates faster
than free version.

Anyone has got any experience out there to share on this?
