You mean: can you modify your boot menu on Android? Short answer: no. Long answer: you're not root on android, the system is. And it's done in a way that you never ever get root, (unless you hack your phone). This is due to Android business model: you can install paid for proprietary content. And because you're not root, you cannot copy/share your paid app around. This model has drawbacks: - impossible to install app on the SDcard - impossible to reallocate your swap space (to make phone faster) - impossible to use the phone as a thethering device - others... So, it's forced lot's of ppl, including me, to hack into their phones to root them (still unsuccessful at the moment) at the potential expense of loosing their warranty. On the other hand, does Maemo has a good market space? Do it have 10000+ apps in store: the possibility to extend the functionality of the phone from messaging and browsing to playing, etc... _______________________________________________ LUGS Mailing list - [email protected] List FAQ: http://wiki.lugs.org.sg/LugsMailingListFaq Info page: http://www.lugs.org.sg/mailman/listinfo/slugnet To unsubscribe send an empty email to: [email protected]
