I was using the TP-Link mentioned as my primary router for quite a while and I realised they have a penchant to hang on me. Worse, I don't even do much torrent. I gave up and eventually bought a old 2nd hand Fortigate and turned the TP-Link as my Wireless AP instead.

My 2C for you guys to ponder. Cheers.

Thanks to all for your replies.

It seemed FON 2.0 is an interesting prospect. But it's not available locally so that more or less rules it out. Joel's suggestion of tp-link wr1043nd is interesting, I will probably check it out.

Thanks again, guys.

    Hi All,

Just want to share few things since I often deploy Wi-Fi Routers
    for friends.

    1) Always get those Auto Channel Selections as now a days the
    default 6 is congested.

    2) Now a days, I always go for Routers that support WDS (Wireless
Distribution System) as it is getting very common that one device
is not able to provide reliable coverage even for HDB Flats.
    * Buffalo High Powered G Model is one of the rare few consumer
products that I linked up 06 to cover a massive mansion ( 03
    above, 03 below)
The downside is when it is on WDS, it can only do WEP.
The new N Models, I did not have hands on yet but to the best of
    my knowledge.
The "Highest End" with Gigabit Ports ( The 2 arms like
transformers ) does not have WPS.
The one that has 2 traditional stick looking antenna seems to
support WDS ( No idea if it is still limited to WEP) but it is a
must to be All the same model.
3COM which I am currently using supports WDS with WPA2 which is
cool but the rest of the features in the router is a pain and
buggy to use and they dont seem to bother releasing any firmware
release, 2 years, 2 release, still buggy.

    3) Lastly, I am keen on giving this FON a try.
Should I buy from United States / Europe Countries?
I am not good at this as rarely buy this overseas but in short
I am just concern about the power adapter etc.
Also any tips on how to cut cost? Some people says use VPOST
USA, some uses some Citibank service which I forget what is the
    name etc.

    Hope the above helps...

Found an interesting benchmarking site with multiple options:

    http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/component/option,com_wireless/Itemid,200
    http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/component/option,com_chart/Itemid,189/
Do check it out before making your choice.

Unfortunately, Fon 2.0N is not in the list. It would be interesting if
Fonera uses could run such tests :(

Thank for the updated hardware list guys.
