Yes, there are users who preferred to use their mobile phone. But, I think those are just user who wants quick and fast way to do things if they cannot access their desktop that time.
But, desktop for Linux, Mac and Windows still plays a major role. The fact also is that you can't do all the things you can do from your desktop to your mobile or smart phone (or just yet).
