I can tell you that message type 2008 is node status information (e.g. from a 
sinfo command
or something else trying to get the node state information).

I've seen these type of messages before, but with legitimate address and port 
numbers.
Your error message leads me to believe that there is some sort of problem 
resolving network 
addresses (just a guess).

Here's a new one.  I'm getting a pile of these in my logs now:
error: slurm_msg_sendto: address:port=0.0.0.0:0 msg_type=2008: Transport
endpoint is not connected

Is the log error incorrect or there slurm actually trying to send
something to 0.0.0.0?
